Precision Manufacturing

The Precision Manufacturing Laboratory addresses the challenges of reducing the uncertainty in the manufacturing of precision components. Research areas focus on process modeling and characterizations, development of tools for process simulation as well as prototyping sensors for process monitoring and control. Current research activities include investigations in chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP), single-point diamond turning, and abrasive machining.
