Looking for fabulous ladymakers! We’re in the fourth year of our Make-HER program at Sunnyvale Library, in which girls aged 8 – 12 and their moms (or other adult female mentors) attend monthly two-hour workshops led by women like you. Content is flexible – I only ask that you teach what you love and avoid duplicating recent content. We’ve done design challenges with recyclables, paper circuitry in all kinds of formats, wearable tech, math projects, superhero puppetry, light-up Harry Potter wands, and more. We pay $500 per session, which covers your time and supplies. We maintain a Make-HER closet of basics – art supplies, glue guns, scissors, paper, tape, feathers, beads, etc.
This is a fun group to teach and a great place to try out new ideas. Participants are comfortable with new challenges, supportive, curious, eager – and workshops fill each month with a wait list. We host 20 mother/daughter teams each session on the first Tuesday of each month. If interested in leading a 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. session on April 2, May 7, or June 4, contact me at nandrus@sunnyvale.ca.gov.
