ME Adjunct Professor David Horsley and Professor Bernhard E. Boser (EECS), have been awarded the Alexander Schwarzkopf Prize for Technological Innovation by the National Science Foundation NSF’s Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers Program I/UCRC, for their work with the Berkeley Sensor and Actuator Center BSAC. The prize is awarded annually, in the name of Dr. Alexander Schwarzkopf, who established the I/UCRC Program at the National Science Foundation, to “an individual or team comprised of University student, faculty, or research staff that has recently worked in an I/UCRC, demonstrating exemplary research contribution to technology innovation in support of the Center’s mission.”
The I/UCRC Program was initiated in 1973 to develop long-term partnerships among industry, academe and government. The NSF, with support from the private and public sector, helps fund these partnerships to foster technology transfer and enhance the nation’s research capabilities.
Congratulations to Professors Horsley and Boser, and BSAC!
