ME Assistant Professor-In-Residence Somayeh Sojoudi, along with IEOR Professors Shmuel S. Oren and Javad Lavaei, will be leading a team competing in the ARPA-E Grid Optimization Competition. The team will be made up of more than ten Post-Docs, Graduate and Undergraduate students from ME, EECS, and IEOR. They are one of 18 teams selected to compete for funding. The competition comprises a series of prize challenges to accelerate the development and comprehensive evaluation of new software solutions for tomorrow’s electric grid. Key areas for development include, but are not limited to: optimal utilization of conventional and emerging technologies, management of dynamic grid operations (including extreme event response and restoration), and management of millions of emerging distributed energy resources (DER).
Good luck to our Berkeley team!
