Paul Sheng is a London-based Director for McKinsey & Company and leader of its Global Oil and Gas Practice. He joined the Firm in 1998 in Houston and has served International Oil Companies, National Oil Companies (particularly in China, Russia and Africa), regional Independents, Oilfield Services and Equipment suppliers, Private Equity and Sovereign investors. His client work has spanned corporate governance, growth strategy, risk, capital productivity, operations and supply chain, business unit strategy, de-regulation, post-merger management and functional excellence.
Paul has led knowledge development work on E&P growth and value creation, mature asset management, global gas, oilfield services, capital productivity and risk management. Prior to joining McKinsey, Paul was Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California at Berkeley, as well as Senior Project Engineer at General Motors Advanced Manufacturing Staff.
Paul received S.B., S.M. and Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
