Purpose: Sheet metal notchers are used to remove a scrap piece of material from an outside edge of a metal workpiece. The cutting portion consists of two blades that are situated 90° relative to one another. When the notcher is actuated, it shears the material, producing an inside corner at varying angles (see image above). The machine is capable of producing multiple angles by adjusting the position of the workpiece. During operation, a metal workpiece is situated on the table under the blade. When the yellow lever is pulled, it feeds the blade into the workpiece, and shears the material. This machine is best suited for light notching of materials (maximum .063” thickness).
