Dave Blakely help organizations to innovate and grow by exploring links between emerging technologies, business opportunities and customer needs. His clients grow disruptive new ventures, launching new ventures and fostering entirely new ways of doing business.
He’s most proud of his work helping global organizations understand how Silicon Valley startup culture can transcend political borders and organizational charts. Of particular value for many clients is his knowledge of emerging technology from Silicon Valley startups.
As a partner at Mach49, he helps run a venture incubator focused on helping Global 1000 companies to create and launch new ventures from within their organizations. He leverages the experience from 25 enjoyable years spent at IDEO, most recently as Director of Technology Strategy. In this role he built and managed strategic business relationships with many of IDEO’s technology-focused clients such as Cisco, Johns Hopkins and Qualcomm. His work generated hundreds of millions in business value for his clients (and gave him six patents as well).
He received a BS in Engineering Physics (Class of 1982) with honors and an MS in Mechanical Engineering with a controls specialization (Class of 1983) with honors, both from the University of California at Berkeley.
