Kenneth (Ken) Richardson is the Executive Vice President of Energy Project Development at ABS – American Bureau of Shipping. He joined ABS in 1982 as an engineer in the Machinery department.
During his career at ABS he has held a number of increasingly senior positions in both ABS and ABS Group. Richardson has served as Principal in Charge, Offshore Engineering department, Houston; Director of Marine Services; Vice President Engineering, ABS Group; Vice President Engineering, ABS Americas; and prior to his current appointment, Vice President Energy and Transportation, ABS Consulting.
Richardson is an active participant in many industry associations including: the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
He is a graduate of the Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, New Jersey with a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master in Ocean Engineering. Richardson attended the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School, Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts.
