Student Shop
Inside the Student Shop, all are required to follow our dress code and safety policies to ensure the safety of everyone in the facility. Before entering, please confirm that your attire follows the according dress code:
- Wear ANSI Z87 Approved Safety Glasses to protect your eyes
- No loose fitting clothing or other loose fabrics that may get caught on the equipment. No dangling hoods, drawstrings, scarves, or neckties. Long sleeves need to be rolled up to the elbows
- Wear clothing that covers skin to avoid burns. Shirts must cover the stomach and lower back as well as the upper arms. Wear long pants that go down to your shoes.
- Wear closed toed shoes to protect from sharp material
- Remove all accessories, jewelry, and other items that are dangling off your body. This includes rings, watches, bracelets, necklaces, earrings, headphones, earbuds, and more.
Accommodations are available for a variety of religious garments. Please ask the staff if you need a disposable lab coat. Safety glasses are also available for purchase at the front counter during our open hours before 3 PM.
When applying for training, students are additionally required to read and sign our Functional Abilities Statement of Understanding, which outlines the required functional abilities to safely work on their projects in the facilities.
Hesse Labs
Hands-on laboratories in Hesse Hall require that you read and sign this Lab Safety Form before handling the equipment.
